ECHOFORM
Echoform is a site-specific installation that turns the natural soundscape of Pittsburgh’s Schenley Park into a gentle visual language, expanding how visitors perceive and emotionally connect to the environment. Many people, due to hearing loss, headphone use, or situational distractions, miss the subtle acoustic cues that shape the park’s atmosphere. Echoform addresses this sensory gap by capturing ambient sounds and translating them into responsive movements inspired by nature. Rather than replicating audio, the installation creates an equivalent emotional experience that invites users to slow down, notice the landscape, and share a moment of calm with others. Through this sensory resonance, Echoform advocates for accessibility that is not only functional but also poetic, fostering a richer sense of presence in public space.
